“I have been to the Studio for several workshops and never thought to contact them when I had problems with my sewing machine. Only after I had been to a local sewing machine shop and had poor, expensive service did I think to contact Maeri. I’m kind of kicking myself as I wish I had done it before! She really worked with me to find a solution to my sewing machines problems. And the price that they offer for the servicing was far less than I had been quoted by anyone else. I keep on pointing people in the direction of the Studio, I’d hate anyone to waste money like I did when there is a really personal (and reasonably priced) option just round the corner!”.

We offer the most competitively priced servicing package in the Cheshire area.

For those of us that sew,  a machine that runs well is essential to your craft. And the best way to keep your machine in good working order is to get it serviced.  How do you know if you need a service? Here are some of the basic questions you should ask:

  • has your machine sat unused for a period of time (at least a year?)
  • has it been in dirty  storage (no cover and in a place like a garage or an attic).
  • did you inherit it and have no idea how long it has been since it has been serviced?
  • is it “misfiring” when you try to sew, even when you play with the tension (what? You don’t know what to do with your tension? Check out our All You Need to Know to Sew workshop as you will know exactly what tension is and how to adjust it).
  • does is just not run right?

If you have answered yes to any of these, a service might be just up your street. Servicing is a fantastic way to find out what condition your machine is in and to get it fit for purpose.

We offer a quick turn around and for a set price – £40.

And if you just want general advice on your machine,  we do that too, free of charge, and with a cup of coffee thrown in.  We even sell a small but selective line of sewing machines and overlockers – both new and used. We passionately believe that you should know exactly what you are getting when you purchase a machine or ask to have your machine serviced and will walk you through all the information you need to make an informed decision on both fronts!
