“I had tried several times to teach myself to crochet and it just ended up in frustration. I had almost given up on learning when a friend had told me about the Make and Do Crochet workshop and I decided to give it a go. I am so happy that I did! Sue did a wonderful job making us feel at ease and much to my surprise, I am now completely hooked (pardon the pun) and getting rather good at it! Thank you so much for a lovely morning and I look forward to coming back to a more advanced workshop when it becomes available.”

“Thanks so much for the crochet workshop. Finally fulfilled a long time ambition to pick up a crochet hook and understand what to do with it ! Thoroughly enjoyed the session with an obviously enthusiastic, patient and gifted teacher. Felt particularly comfortable within a small group where we could work at our own pace and really get to grips with the basics”

Crochet has made a comeback in the most tasteful of ways as it is the busy woman’s ticket to crafting on the go! With only a hook, a ball of wool, and a handbag to tuck it into, you can work on your latest project when you have a quick ten minutes to spare or over a glass of wine at the end of a long day. And gone are the vibrant acrylic yarn that our mothers (and grandmothers) would have been privy to using. The new colours are beautiful and reflect a more modern taste in the new crocheters.

In enters our crochet workshops where we use yarn in the most subtle of shades and the gentlest of textures. We teach you the time honoured stitches that are used to create the backbone to almost every crochet pattern and build on this using contemporary patterns that reflect how the modern day crocheter is using. And we show you how to finish your project off with a quirky flower or a hand stitched tag just to give it a bit of individuality.
